Challenges faced by Women entrepreneurs in India
Lack of Information is one of the biggest challenges faced in the country today,  women need to be made aware and need guidance, and that is where WEP comes in. Simply providing accurate, helpful information and connecting them to the right people plays an important role. It can be the best form of empowerment we can give women entrepreneurs.

WEP's Journey

In 2018, NITI Aayog launched a women's WEP platform. In 2021, NITI Aayog partnered with CISC to launch the next part of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), titled "WEP Nxt." In 2022, NITI Aayog upgraded the platform to WEP 3.0, designed to cater to the requirements of women taking their first stride towards entrepreneurship and looking for growth and scale in their journey. In March of 2022, more than 900 women entrepreneurs benefitted through 77 programs and other events on the WEP platform, according to  NITI Aayog's statement.

WEP's successes

One of the enormous successes of WEP is the ecosystem formed by joining hands that converted all their dreams into reality. Young, driven women of India drive all this. WEP's partners (Human X and CAxpert) have organized a lot of unique virtual masterclasses during the pandemic, which addressed the compliance-related and financial problems of several young entrepreneurs. Big players in the industry are working pro bono for WEP, which shows the robustness and strength of their approach. It is a public-private partnership in approaching a goal. In 2023, They aim to have an offline calendar of events for a physical connection, so there is broader outreach.

NITI Aayog's Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is a huge step up for women entrepreneurship in India to boost their growth in the industry. Such platforms and Technology are the key enablers in this entire process. This platform is reaching out to a marginalized population of the country with access barriers and helping them empower. Emerging technologies like Machine Learning (ML), AI (artificial intelligence), etc., to access information seamlessly is something that today's generation requires to compete in today's fast pacing world.
