The government has launched several schemes for improving the life of Kisan (farmers) in India. PM Samman is one of such schemes in which the Indian government directly transfers funds into the accounts of beneficiaries. Let's get to about the changes in the scheme.

Changes in the application for PM Samman Nidhi Scheme

Although, till now, 11 instalments of the PM Samman scheme have been credited in the accounts of the farmers, they can still apply for it. However, recently there have been some changes in the method. To register for this scheme, you must have a ration card. If you don't have a ration card, you must apply for it first and then proceed with the registration of this scheme. This is important as during registration, you have to upload the ration card on the portal to avail of the services under this scheme.

Moreover, the existing farmers will get their next instalment when they get their e-KYC done. This eKYC is mandatory for all the current farmers, and 31st July 2022 is the last date. You can easily apply for it from the official website of PM Kisan through your smartphone. You can also visit a nearby cyber café to do so.

Under this scheme, the central government grants 6 thousand rupees annually to all the beneficiaries. The government aims to improve the farmers' financial conditions through this scheme. This money is credited under three instalments directly into the farmers' bank accounts. 

Now, only after uploading the ration cards online will one of the spouses, i.e., the husband or the wife, get the money in instalments. Moreover, along with the ration cards, the farmers must also upload other documents in pdf format. Moreover, according to new guidelines, there is no need to submit photocopied documents of Aadhar cards, bank passbooks, and declarations. Now, all these documents have to upload to the portal in PDF format only.
