I am a CA by profession. As my training has taught me, investing is a big part of my financial strategy. I am slightly risk-averse and invest heavily in mutual funds, FDs and ULIPs. I stay away from the stock market.
As the household expenses are taken care of by my husband, I use most of my earnings to invest, create a retirement fund for us and support our parents. We both love to travel, so I keep aside 20% of my earning each month to feed our wanderlust. We take at least 3 vacations every year – some just the 2 of us and some with our parents.
We do not plan on having children and we do not have to worry about building an education corpus or all the other expenses that come with having kids. We would rather use our money to experience life, travel, save for our golden years and ensure our parents are comfortable for as long as they are with us.
